About the VXT Canvas Page

Use VXT Canvas to create a variety of content scenarios.
Click Content > Create Content. You are redirected to the VXT Canvas menu page.

  • It is best to use VXT Canvas from the Google Chrome browser. If you use it from Internet Explorer or other browsers, some features may not work.

    Description

    This is the main menu of VXT Canvas. A variety of menu items are offered, with which you can configure content.

    • To learn more about specific menu items, refer to the following:

    Shows the sub-menu items of the main menu tab. This section displays the sub-menu items of the menu selected from the main menu tab.

    •  Undo (Ctrl+ Z): Undo the last command to revert back to the previous state.

    •  Redo (Ctrl+ Y): Redo a command that has been undone.

    •  Layer: Displays layers. Refer to the following for details:

    •  Event Manager: Configure event settings. Refer to the following for details:

    Preview or save edited VXT Canvas. When saving, if the content was already published, the changes are immediately applied on the screen.
    To revert to the unsaved changes, click .
    Click (More) to display the Add menu.

    • New: Displays a new canvas.

    • Save as: Saves as a different file name.

    • Save as E-Paper: Saves as E-Paper. Refer to the following for details:

    • Add to My Templates: Adds the current canvas to your template.

    • Ruler, Guides: Displays the ruler and guides on the canvas.

    • Manual: Opens the VXT Canvas user manual.

    • About: Shows the VXT Canvas version and open source license information.

    This is the content editor section. You can view content or edit added elements from this section.
    If there are multiple pages, move to the previous or next page by scrolling the mouse wheel from the page section.

    • The page number appears at the top left.

    • To add a page, click (Add Page).

    • If there are multiple pages, move to the previous or next page by clicking (Up) or (Down).

    • If there are multiple pages, you can delete pages by clicking (Delete Page).

    • To display the page settings menu items, click (More). Refer to the following for details:

    This is the properties menu in VXT Canvas. Use this menu to edit the style and other properties of an element. Displayed menu items differ, depending on the clicked element.

    Click the icon to display the page list. Refer to the following for details:

    Zoom in/out of a content view.

Changing Layer Settings

Change layer settings, as follows: Click Layer to display the layer items, in the order they were added to the canvas.

If you place the mouse cursor on a menu item, the (Hide), (Move), and (Delete) icons appear.

  • To hide the layer, click (Hide).

  • To rearrange the layer, click (Move), drag and drop.

  • To delete the layer, click (Delete).

Event Manager

Change content or perform specific actions based on specific conditions or events. This feature makes digital signage more dynamic and interactive, and allows users to automatically adjust content to fit the situation.
To create an event, click (Event Manager).

  • PAGE DURATION: Set the playback time for each page individually. This option is available for content comprised of multiple pages. Click Add to specify a page and playback time.

  • NETWORK: Specify the page to remotely go to on the network by entering a UDP port and key.

  • SMARTTHINGS: Specify the page to go to by using the status information of devices registered in SmartThings.

  • TOUCH: Specify the page to go to by setting a touch event.

Saving as E-Paper

Save content, created in VXT Canvas, as E-Paper.
From the Canvas page, open the content you want to save as E-paper, and click More > Save as E-Paper.
The Save as E-Paper window appears. Enter a title and click Save.

  • Saved E-Paper can be viewed from Content.

  • E-Paper can store static objects, such as images, shapes, and text.

  • Content that has animation effects, added from the properties menu, will not play in E-Paper.

  • Content that can be saved as E-Paper: Motionless templates, artwork, menu widgets, media, text, shapes, images, and event-included content

  • Content that cannot be saved as E-Paper: Audio, video, web (HTML or URL), documents, widgets with the exception of menu widgets, moving apps, and content with animation effects
