Configuring Edge Server settings from a device

Configure settings so that content saved on a device, registered on MagicINFO Server, can be downloaded to Edge Server.

  1. On the main menu bar of MagicINFO Server, click Device.
  2. In the device info editor window, click the Setup tab.
  3. Select the Edge Server check box under the Edge Server item, and set Edge Server Only to True.

    Note

    • If Edge Server Only is set to True, a file request is not sent to the MagicINFO Server even if it is not possible to receive files from the Edge Server.
    • If Edge Server Only is set to False, the MagicINFO Player first requests a file to the Edge Server. If a file is not received, a file request is sent to the MagicINFO Server.
  4. Click the Save button.

Publishing a file based on a schedule

Create a schedule to publish content to a registered device.

Creating a general schedule

On the main menu bar of MagicINFO Server, click Schedule.

  1. Click New Schedule > Content.
  2. The Create Schedule window appears.
  3. Under Supported Devices, select the device to send a schedule to.
  4. Set Schedule Type to General.
  5. Click the Create button.

The New Schedule screen appears.

Adding content by configuring a schedule

  1. In the schedule calendar, click on an empty space or drag the dates and time period you want.
  2. The Create Schedule window appears.
  3. Click the  icon under the Content item.
  4. On the displayed Select Content window, select a single content item and click Select.
  5. Configure settings for the Playback Date, Repeat, and Playback Time options.
  6. Click Save.

Saving a schedule

  1. At the top of the schedule calendar, click Save.
  2. On the displayed Save window, configure settings for the “name” and “grouped devices” options.
  3. Click Save & Publish.
  4. A schedule is created.

Publishing a user logo or default content

On the main menu bar of MagicINFO Server, click Device.

Note

  • MagicINFO Player versions that support the Preset function can only receive user logos or content published from Edge Server.
  • Software update files, published from Edge Server, can only be received by versions of MagicINFO Player that support the Preset function.
  • On the main menu bar of MagicINFO Server, click Device > Preset Management, select a management item from the list, and then click the Service tab.

    Under the FIRMWARE_DOWNLOAD item, assign the preset in which the Edge Server IP address is specified to MagicINFO Player.

  • If the Service tab is not shown, please contact our Technical Support Team for assistance.
  1. Click Customize > Register & Publish.
  2. Select the check box of the user logo or default content to publish from the list, and then click Publish.
  3. The window where you can publish a user logo or default content appears.
  4. Set Publish time to Publish Now or Schedule Publish.

    If Schedule Publish has been selected, specify the date and time to publish the logo or content.

  5. Click Select from the Select Applicable Device(s) item.
  6. In the Select Group window, select a device group and click Save.
  7. Click Publish.

Viewing publishing status

If you publish content to the MagicINFO Server while keeping the Dash Board page of Edge Server open, the published files can be viewed from the Edge Server.

  1. Open the Dash Board page of Edge Server.
  2. Publish a user logo or default content from the MagicINFO Server.
  3. Open the Dash Board page of Edge Server again. The published file can be found under the Downloading item.

Note

  • To view published files shown in a progress bar from the Dash Board page of Edge Server, make sure you open the Dash Board page of the Edge Server before publishing content to the MagicINFO Server.
  • CSV files can be found in the C:\MagicInfoEdgeServer\runtime\upload\csv\MIRRORING path after content is published, irrespective of the order of publishing.
