Registering Screens

To display and play content on VXT, first you should register a screen. Add a variety of screens, such as Samsung screens, personal computer screens, Android mobile device screens, and virtual screens.
Use the following procedure to add a screen that is ready for pairing.

Connecting a Samsung screen

Register Samsung screens that are compatible with VXT.

  • If VXT Player is not found on the main page of the Samsung screen, install VXT Player from Apps.

  • For more information about the VXT Player for Samsung screens, refer to the following:

  1. Complete initial settings for the Samsung screen.

  2. Launch the VXT Player App app from the Home screen of the Samsung screen. On the VXT Player screen, a six-character pairing code appears.

  3. Enter the pairing code in the add-screen window, and click Pair Now.

  4. Adding the screen is complete.

Connecting a virtual screen

Display a screen from your web browser, without a display device.

  • Some features may be limited compared to actual Samsung screens.

  • For more information about the VXT Player for virtual screens, refer to the following:

  1. Select Add Screen from the Screens menu page.

  2. At the bottom of the pop-up window, click More and then select the web URL under No Samsung Screen? > VXT Virtual Screen.

  3. A six-digit authentication code appears on the virtual VXT Player screen. Copy the authentication code.

  4. Click Screens > Add Screen from the web VXT CMS and then click Pair My Screen from the add-screen window.

  5. On the add-screen window, enter the six-digit authentication code and click Pair Now.

  6. Adding the screen is complete.

Connecting to an Android Screen

Use VXT Player from an Android mobile device.

  • For further information on Android Player, such as system requirements and supported/unsupported features, refer to the following:

  1. Search for and download the VXT Player app from the Google Play app on your smartphone.

    • If the VXT Player app is not available on Google Play, visit the VXT CMS website, navigate to Screens > Add Screen > More and then select No Samsung Screen?. Select How to Install for the Android item and then follow the displayed on-screen instructions.

  2. Launch the VXT Player app. A pairing code appears.

  3. Click Screens > Add Screen from the web VXT CMS and then type the six-digit pairing code, displayed on your mobile device, in the code input field in the pop-up window.

Connecting to a Windows Screen

Connect to VXT from a computer.

  • For further information on Windows Player, such as system requirements and supported/unsupported features, refer to the following:

  1. Select Add Screen from the Screens menu page.

  2. From More at the bottom of the pop-up window, click Download Here under No Samsung Screen? > Windows to download the VXT Player app for Windows.

  3. Install the downloaded app on your computer.

  4. On the computer desktop, double-click the VXT Player app icon for Windows to launch the app.

  5. A six-digit authentication code appears on the screen. Copy the authentication code.

  6. Click Screens > Add Screen from the web VXT CMS and then click Pair My Screen from the add-screen window.

  7. On the add-screen window, enter the six-digit authentication code and click Pair Now.

  8. Adding the screen is complete.

Connecting to a BrightSign Screen

Use VXT Player from a screen made by BrightSign. Sign in to configure device settings.
The sign-in ID is admin and the password is the serial number displayed on the BrightSign screen.

  • The serial number can be found under the IP address displayed on the screen or can be found on the back of the device.

Downloading VXT Player for BrightSign

  1. Select Add Screen from the Screens menu page.

  2. Click More at the bottom of the pop-up window and then click Download Here under No Samsung Screen? > BrightSign to download the installation file.

  3. Decompress the downloaded vxtplayer-XX.zip file, and then extract the files

  4. Save the extracted files to a FAT32-formatted microSD card or USB drive.

  5. Connect power to the BrightSign screen.

  6. When the BrightSign screen displays the message "Insert storage device" along with an IP address, connect the storage device where the auto-run.zip file is saved. The file is automatically decompressed and the device restarts.

Connecting to a Screen

  1. When the VXT Player launches on the BrightSign screen, a six-digit authentication code appears on the screen. Copy the authentication code.

  2. Click Screens > Add Screen from the web VXT CMS and then click Pair My Screen from the add-screen window.

  3. On the add-screen window, enter the six-digit authentication code and click Pair Now.

  4. Adding the screen is complete.

Adding Multiple Screens Simultaneously

It is possible to add multiple Samsung screens simultaneously.

  • This feature may not be supported, depending on the rate plan in use.

  1. Click Add Screen. The add-screen window appears.

  2. Click More and then click Add Multiple Samsung Screens at Once.

  3. Download the template file in the VXT screen list at the bottom and fill it out.

  4. Add files by dragging and dropping to the list or by clicking Browse and then click Pair Now. Adding the screen is complete.
