Add content files saved on a computer in a remote location. After a content file is added from a remote location, MagicINFO Server communicates with the source computer regularly to update the content file.
Click (Content) on the main menu bar.
Adding content files via FTP
- Click Create > FTP.
- The Add FTP Content window appears.
- Enter the content name.
- In FTP Server IP Address, enter the IP address to import content from or the host name.
- In FTP Port, enter the port number of the FTP server.
- In Login ID and Password, enter the ID and password to access the FTP server.
- In Remote Directory, enter the folder path of the FTP server where content is located.
- In Polling Interval, set the interval to download data from the remote directory.
- In Retry Login, set the retry interval if login fails.
- After configuring required settings, click Save.
Content registration through FTP is finished.
Adding content files via CIFS
- Click Create > CIFS.
- The Add CIFS Content window appears.
- Enter the content name.
- In CIFS Server IP Address, enter the IP address to import content from or the host name.
- In Login ID and Password, enter the ID and password to access the CIFS server.
- In Remote Directory, enter the folder path of the CIFS server where content is located.
- In Polling Interval, set the interval to download data from the remote directory.
- In Retry Login, set the retry interval if login fails.
- After configuring required settings, click Save.
Content registration through CIFS is finished.

Common Internet File System (CIFS) is a standard protocol that requests a file or service on a computer from a remote location over the Internet. In the client-server model, the client initiates a file access or program message transfer request to the server of another computer. The server resolves the request and sends a response to the client.
